Beejive 3.2 for iPhone: location support, minor UI changes

Beejive ($9.99), the important daddy of messaging apps on iOS, continues to be updated to version 3.2. The changes on this occasion aren’t terribly exciting, but here’s what I’ve noticed up to now:

  • Location Support. I’ve never had use for location support and the 1 time Cleaning it once a it within WhatsApp, it reported that I was four blocks from where I was actually standing. Maybe Beejive’s implementation might be a better, though.
  • UI Enhancements. This is a terribly vague description, and so I’ve only found two ‘enhancements’ to report. Some time stamps for that Chat list can be a little cleaner now and all sorts of the settings for Beejive have been moved straight into the app (they used to be in Settings.app).
Sorry folks, I warned you that this wasn’t terribly exciting (but a minimum of I can make believe you speak Simplified Chinese inside the app now).

Adobe Flash player doesn’t work on Android 4.0, update on the way

You might have heard which the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the bringer of Android Ice Lotion Meal (ICS), doesn’t support Flash. It’s not a hardware issue limited to the which model, the issue lies with the software – Flash doesn’t support ICS. However.

Adobe is anticipated to launch an revise by the end of the year which will include support for Ice Lotion Meal to Android’s Flash participant. But pay attention at how Adobe worded it’s statement:

Adobe may launch one much more edition of the Flash Player for mobile browsing, that will provide assistance for Android 4.0, and one much more launch of the Flash Linux Porting Kit – both anticipated to be released before the end of this year.

So, the next major Android version is not getting official Flash assistance. Which coincides along with Adobe’s up-to-date strategy for mobile products that phone calls for HTML5 to replace Flash.

Note that this really is only for the Flash plug-in for browsers. Devs it’s still capable to use Adobe’s technologies to create applications and video games for mobile devices through Adobe Air. That will go on with a concentrate on console-like video gaming (many thanks to the recently added 3d assistance). Flash for the desktop computer will also see continued development.
